About me

I live in the Derbyshire Dales with my husband, Chris, who is a blind woodturner, and his Guide Dog, Bamber.

We have a smallholding with nine hens and a cockerel on a friend’s farm. Over the past year I’ve been acquiring new skills including lambing, shepherding, and cow wrangling.

I’m involved in setting up a men’s shed, care farm, and forest school.

Sage + Siren

Life has been changing over the past 12-18 months. I turned 60 in 2024 which has been accompanied by, what I call, a biological process that has been a now or never wake up call.

I used to write as Note Aloud before this recent evolution to Sage + Siren.

Sage + Siren explores sageism1, and how we can continue - or even begin - to live purposeful and meaningful lives.
